How long is your laptop on per day?

A question for all the laptop owners here... how long is your laptop on for each day or per week?

And how long have you had it? I always worry that they are not designed for long-term use but wondered!

Hardly use mine at all - just used as a spare computer really I have had it about 7 or 8 months now but much prefer the desktop because I don't like the touch pad on them and unless you are sat at a table then there is nowhere to put the mouse.

Well over Christmas mine was on for approx 8 hours a day, while my desktop was being fixed, then last Friday it died on me, so I wonder the same now, whether they are intended for long term use.

Thankfully it is still under warranty and when I checked the Sony website last night this is what it said:

Following parts were replaced :

ASSY DISPLAY(S)
COMPLETE PWB MBX-109(M9)24(S)
LCD UNIT (13.3 WXGA TFT)

Sony are excellent though, they ran through a quick diagnosis to see if they could fix it over the phone, then called in DHL, who picked it up on Friday last week, took it back to Brussels, Belgium and is due back to me on Friday....all in 1 week.

Mine is 10 mnths old and is generally on for 4 ish hours per day. She went to Tosh Hospital the other week, away for 4 days, so not bad service really. My co-director at work also has a Tosh, it is in daily use and is years old

I got a new one for xmas, my other one I had for a year, but it became very slow, and rather than put all the updates on it, got a new one...
Its on for about an hour during the day, but then from about 6-11 most nights........
I do often leave it on, but turn off the wireless connection...

My laptop is around 9 months old. some days (if OH is working from home) it can be on for as long as 15 hours, other days it's on for 5 hours a day. Never had any problems with it - touch wood :smt017
