£199 for my giant breed to be spayed but my vet insists on an overnight stay as he will not allow a dog to go home before it has properly recovered from the anaesthetic. i could have got it done for £100 at a different vet but my vet is the best around and it was worth the extra money for the peace of mind.

The vet here would like £160. My old vet would have charged about £80!!!!! And he was great too, best vet I have seen so far.

I am going to hunt about and see where I can get it done cheaply. I will get Bodhi quality care, but I am NOT prepared to pay out just because of the location of the vets (my town is pretty well off).

What did you guys pay?

Also, is it possible to get any discount on the fact I am now a student?

Bodhi is just about ready to get "done" after her heat now, so want to get this sorted in the next few weeks!!!

Try ringing Vets for Pets on County Road, I believe their prices are very good!!

For some reason £75 rings a bell with me. That included a follow up visit 4 days after and the pain killers.

Hi Bodhi we had gemma done after her first season and paid £120 which seems pretty average around here ,but that was about 4 years ago now ,my sister recently had her jrk spayed and paid £135 which included nails trimmed and i think chipped as well ,and watch out for "after care " gemma had a nasty infection and we assumed that this would be termed as aftercare as she would'nt have got an infection had she not had the operation ,but its not included we were told "aftercare"is "stitch removal" i think i should have been a vet

The 'Vets 4 Pets' near me is soo expensive!
Teagan was spayed there, but only cos they are the nearest vets who deal with NCDL vouchers.
