A very interesting article Julie, thank you and so true .

What is said about the freedom Ginger experienced all those years ago also applies to our children. Sadly in today's busy over crowded society they too can no longer have the carefree life they once may have had.

In Defence of Dogs by John Bradshaw

Seen loads of hype about this book - saw it in the Times and an article on the guardian.. anyone know whether it's any good?!

If it's the one I think it is, then I shall be buying it at some stage.

John Bradshaw has been involved in lots of studies about dogs and I believe the purpose of the book is to help us understand the reality of living with dogs and why they are like they are - and also to dispel some myths

I think we need books like this to keep us up to date and to educate ourselves, to discuss and learn. Better than the usual celeb dog book by far, I bet

Yes, he's been studying dogs and their behavior and the way they intergrate in to our lives. He wishes to dispell all the dominance, wolf type studies that people are using on dogs and explains why they behave how they do within the human home and how to better understand your dogs behavior.. I think!!

Looks interesting to me so wondered what others think!

I've just read the review for this book. I have a general interest in dog behaviour, so I think I will be buying it.

Thanks for brining this book to my attention.
