In fact, i think you work at the University I went to back in the day!

I am a Law Cost Draftsman these days.

Before Uni i was a veterninary assistant but decided to go to uni rather than becoming a vet nurse. I studied chemistry and after 3 years (and a year on the student union exec) i didn't want to do chemistry at all.

Walked into an agency one day and got a temp job as a legal assistant/secretary at a law firm and have worked in legal practices ever since first as a paralegal, then a litigation executive and finally as a cost draftsman - am part way through formal qualification to become a costs lawyer.

family joke is that one day i will grow up and decide what I want to do for a living.

I'm a planning & exports clerk. The company manufacture specialised banking & control room desks & we ship them all over the world. I put the new orders on & do the paperwork when they go out. I used to be full time but got made redundant, I've been back 18 months part time, which I prefer as I also have my own sewing from home business & make & sell dog collars, leads & personalised blankets, curtains, a bit of upholstory, corsets & whatever I'm asked to do really
My last project was 22 million squillion metres of bunting for a bar for the Royal Wedding....... (well that's what it felt like) I like making doggie stuff the most

Everyone here does so many varied jobs!! Love reading about what other people get up to (mainly cos Im nosey!!)

Im a district nursing team leader for the Nhs...

and

I can honestly 100% say I Love my job!!!!!!

I am so happy and love meeting new patients and for the majority making them better!! Sadly, we see many younger patients with terminal cancer who choose to die at home and I feel priviledged to be allowed in their home at such a distressing time (for them and their families) and can allow them to die with dignity. The main part of my job is wound care and I thrive on finding what dressings will heal certain wounds/ulcers and although there is death by paperwork it is essential and once done gives you time to sit and chat...something nurses cant always do in hospitals.

To make a difference in just 1 persons life is so worthwhile. Not sure what Id do If I had to choose a different job!!!!

I'm a library assistant in a public library

Not a good job to be in at the moment with all the cuts but fingers crossed my job will be safe for a while.

I dont think you'll find any inspiration from my career choice! Well, I say career when I mean job!

I'm a Water Hygiene Engineer which basically means I put in measures of control in water systems to prevent or cure the production of Legionella and bacteria. The main bulk of my work involves monitoring the temperature of the hot and cold water in predominantly schools (an excellent place to hang out considering I dont like kids!) I also spend alot of time hanging around in toilets which does make for some funny stories. We get contracted to monitor all kinds of properties like care homes, sports pavilions, blocks of flats, anything really. I also take samples of water for analysis, clean and disinfect showerheads and then I get put with a colleague on occassions and we clean cold water storage tanks, chlorinate water systems etc.

It's an easy job, I get my own van to drive around in all day and take home which means i'm pretty much my own boss when i'm working, I only go in the 'yard' once a week and the salary is the best i've ever been on! Even better than when I was a deputy manager in a supermarket and had to take all the crap that came with it!
