Bob -12 year old Yorkshire Terrier in Oxford

Bob (was called Fang) is a 12 year old Yorkshire Terrier cross and is currently on foster near Oxford.

The Bob Fact File

Dog status: Good but would need to be older and calm
Cat status: Could live with cats (as he can’t run too fast)
Child status: Good but would prefer a quiet home
House training: Good
Home alone: Can be left for short periods.
Basic training: Knows the basics and walks nicely on the lead.



Bob was found straying and no owner has come forward for him. Fang as he was originally called was named by his finder not ourselves and the name is not a reflection on his temperament but his lack of teeth! Unfortunately his remaining teeth will probably need more attention in the future and Hope Rescue will cover the cost of this treatment.

Bob settled in well with his foster family and has received essential veterinary treatment and a well needed make over!

Bob has been great with a majority of the dogs he has met except for ones that haven’t basic doggy manners and they do get told to behave. He is not particularly interested in cats or small furries and in truth isn’t really up for charging around anymore. Bob could be rehomed with canine company or as a single dog with lots of company.



Bob has been great with all the people he has met and loves to curl up on the sofa with people. He has met children from the age of 4 upwards and has been fine but we would prefer older or no children due to his desire for a quiet retirement home.

Bob walks well on the lead and knows basic manners but doesn’t really want to listen and would prefer to get on with his own thing. Actually I may be doing him a disservice as Bob may actually be deaf. He has been left for a few hours and settles after an initial fuss. He has shown no destructive behaviour and travels ok in the car. He is housetrained though did initially mark the house; this has reduced since he has settled in and been castrated. He has growled on a few occasions and has some possessive behaviour and prefers not to have his paws touched.

Bob is looking for a quiet retirement home where he has company for most of the day. He will be a no donation dog due to his age and general wonkiness – his sight isn’t great, his hips a little sore, his hearing possibly minimal and his last few teeth may need removing but he has a heart of gold!



All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family.

There is no donation for rehoming Bob and the costs for his further treatment on his teeth will be covered by our Assisted Adoption Scheme.

Hi, a family friend is very interested in bob but live in the north east, would they still be able to adopt bob? willing to travel as far as it takes, elderly couple with no other dogs or children.
