Word pad or window word?????

ok our last computer had microsoft XP and had microsoft windows....we have just bought this dell PC and apparently have xp but where the h**l is word? I have my cv's ect on microsoft word and now all my documents are in word pad and they are knac*ered...where do i find it HELP!!!!!!

My last computer had it on as well chinaowner but my new one hasn't it has got something else instead called Microsoft works and wordpad.

I've got a disc for Microsoft word 2002 but I don't think you can put it on other computers can you I know you have to feed a serial number in thats on the box - don't know if 2002 would be up to date enough though for you.

As long as all your word documents are saved in rich text format, you can open them in Microsoft works and vise versa.

With new pc unless they come bundled with software then you will have to buy the software yourself.
Word and other applications from Microsoft are not part of windows the best you can get in windows is word pad or note pad.

Word viewer will let you open & print word documents - won't let you edit them though,

Word viewer 2003

If you need to edit them, try OpenOffice:
