Angie ~ Perfect Little Girl - 4.5yo Black Greyhound

ANGIE

Angie is a little greyhound girl who is 4.5 years old. She has a soft black coat that will be beautifully sleek and shiny once she gains a bit more weight and condition.

Angie is a little angel and acts younger than her 4+ years. She likes to play and goof around with other dogs, and is now learning what toys are all about. She is very sweet and relishes human company, always wanting to be where you are.

Little Angie is currently in a foster home where she is learning all about the home comforts. She is now fully housetrained and is well behaved in the car. She walks great on the lead, though can be a little nervous of noisy traffic such as passing trucks or tractors. She has been no bother with all the dogs she has met, being fine with them all, male and female, large and small. A preliminary test has also shown that Angie may be cat friendly. This will be tested more thoroughly before she is classed as suitable to live in a home with cats.

Like most greyhounds, Angie will not need a huge amount of exercise. She will be content with two 20min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch her legs offlead in a secure area once or twice a week.

Angie is a very easy little girl to have, and embodies everything that makes greyhounds greyt pets - she is calm, sweet natured, loving, sociable, friendly, non destructive and lazy in the home. She is really everything you might be looking for in a dog in one little package.

In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs who are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.

**UPDATE: AUGUST 2010**

Angie has now travelled across to the UK where she waits for her forever home. She is in foster care and is a delight to have around, being easy going and friendly by nature. Angie can get a bit spooked by loud traffic, particularly big trucks or tractors, and this is being worked on in her foster home now. Angie is brilliant with all dogs, and will be cat tested shortly to see if she’s suitable to live in a home with them.

**UPDATE: AUGUST 2010b**

Angie is settling now in her new UK foster home, and gets along brilliantly with the fosterer’s other dogs. She was a little shy for the first few days, but has gained confidence from having the other dogs around her, following their lead whenever she is unsure. Because of this we feel Angie would do best in a home with another dog(s) for her to lean on and learn from.

Sadly Angie has shown to be not 100% safe with cats, and as such she is not suitable to share her home with them. She is a lovely little girl, though, and is going to make a superb family member of a (cat-free!) home.

Angie is currently in a foster home in Norfolk, UK. She is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed prior to adoption and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in adopting Angie, please email me for our adoption application form and information pack. Thanks!

**UPDATE: NOVEMBER 2010**

Angie has been in a foster home for a couple of months now, and has become very settled and confident in herself. Gone is the shy, retiring little girl we first met, now Angie is bursting with fun and has a real love for life.

Angie really enjoys her walks now, and can become a bit of a bouncy girl if she gets too excited. She is very friendly and loves being around people and their dogs. She relishes a good fuss and is very loving. The only time she can become slightly nervous on walks is if there is a stranger walking behind her, but she never shows an ounce of aggression. Apart from that she is nice and relaxed on her walks, even in busy traffic.

Angie’s new found confidence can mean she can be a bit of a cheeky girl at times, and if given an inch she will gladly take a mile! She does sometimes need reminding to be patient and wait her turn, but she does listen and learn from commands, especially if you have a tasty treat.

Dear Angie absolutely adores her food, and as such training her can be quite easy. She has good recall and manners within the home, and we think she would really love being taught some tricks by her new family. She is clean and non-destructive in the house and goes to the door when she needs to go out. She has also started playing with toys, which is a joy to watch, although her fondness for digging may not be quite as enjoyable!

Angie really is a fantastic little girl now and has oodles of potential. She is very sociable and would do well with a family who likes to be out and about, or perhaps with older children who could teach her some tricks and how to play fetch. She does need company, however, so would be ideally suited to a home with another dog(s) to keep her company during the day.

Angie is currently in a foster home in Norfolk, UK. She is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed prior to adoption and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.
