digging up the garden

Does anyone have any good ideas on how to stop your dogs digging up/eating plants.
90% of our garden is hard landscaped as we've always owned several dogs and find this easier, but we have a small veg patch and lots of plants in pots.
We have 3 dogs 2 sprockers and a german shorthaired pointer who is only 6 months old and obvously being a puppy still is the main culprit, but the other girls are also fond of a good dig!!
I don't like keeping them shut in on nice weather like this but neither do I like the ranting when my husband comes home to find carnage.
any good ideas anyone?

Make them a bespoke digging pit, plant bones, toys, etc in it each day, and they will then fulfil their digging tendencies and also stop digging where they should not!
