No, but I hear they can make lovely pets. There is a Greyhound Rescue centre over the border from us and they often go to local shows to promote their work.

My own opinion - I do not agree with Greyhound racing
But I do believe that they make wonderful pets, my old boss owned several, and raced them at Hove. I have been to the kennels with him and I have to admit what I saw was extremelly positive in the way they are kept and handled. It just the gambling bit with me!!!

I boarded a rescue greyhound once for acouple weeks, she was awesome, I would take her out every day & I'd put her on a 100ft. line and we'd walk the big field, she was so lovely. I do not like dog racing I've heard of so many horror stories, and they don't get the love they want.

Yes, that's my feeling too, but I suppose they are bred for racing and they dont know any different. I appreciate that there are people that do give them love but when I hear they brake a leg in a race and have to be pts, it makes me feel sick!

I think they just have a sad life, then get placed in a rescue, day after day they watch people pass by hoping one day someone will stop at their cage and maybe they will have a chance to be loved by one human.
