What do you clean flat screens with?

I know they are quite delicate and can be easily damaged so I just wonder what you all use to clean your flat screens. I am sure in my lap top user guide it said that I could use a glass cleaner - does that mean like windowlene or something

I think the wipes you buy dont contain any alcohol, so baby wipes would be good I think

I just vacuum mine - it doesn't get touched by fingers.

If you get fingerprints or any marks on it, follow the instructions given in the manual - advice seems to vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.

In the absence of any manufacturer's advice, turn off the monitor and allow to cool. Then use a slightly moist, non-abrasive cloth over the surface. Keep excessive moistness off the monitor because surplus liquid or foam can be easily "sucked" into the screen through capillary action. Once the moisture gets in there, it won't come out too easily.

A standard yellow duster is normally suitable as a cleaning cloth. Really stubborn fingerprints and pen marks should be treated with care. If using plain water to moisten the cloth doesn't work, you can try spraying some screen cleaning fluid onto the cleaning cloth (avoid excessive free liquid) and gently buff the screen.

Do not to put pressure on the screen (too much pressure can damage the liquid crystal cell behind) and do not use abrasive material (eg paper towels, scouring powder etc). Cleaning solutions should not be applied directly to the screen.

Also, do not use ammonia-based cleaners and solvents such as acetone and alcohol.

Some manufacturer's suggest a soft, lint-free cloth slightly moistened with dilute vinegar instead of using plain water.
