seen it all now

have just picked my son up from work and in a house opposite the shop they have their xmas decorations up .....lights outside as well

we are still in September

there is a family here puts up theirs 1st week in october and they stay up until february ,
I put mine up about 8 days before christmas and take them down new yrs day , cant see the point of having them up longer than that

September is way to early, we usualy put the decs up a few days/week before Christmas this year they will be up at the begining of Dec ready for when baby arrives as theres no way I am putting them up when im home with baby i just wont have time. lol

Ours go up (if they do) about 2 weeks before christmas, Down about 12 days later

But it makes sense to take them down on New years eve, as it will be the start of a new clean year, you know what I mean.

Although dont think I could take down decorations while pissed

That's just really sad. Ours don't go up till about the 22nd December. The kids make paper chains every year for the living room and they make them when they start their xmas hols. Once they are done then the tree gets brought down out of the attic (altho a new one is on the cards for this year) which the kids decorate hence the reason why the tree looks a tad odd, all the decs are on one side and only on the lower part of the tree

Think of all the dust they would collect,bad enough dealing with the dusting normally.I put mine up about week before Christmas,and then down couple of days after new year.Noticed shops were getting ready for Halloween and Christmas much earlier this year.
