Problem is Steve is battling against the odds. The work tops the fitter has put in are bowed as hell and Steve is having to get over the problem with his tiling. He thinks the bloke has been dealing in reject goods!

Sadly Moyra, Steve is most likely right.....i would suspect that the landlady is fully aware of things too.

Yes, I think she has encouraged him and he may well be doing the job for free for her on the promise of other work for the authority she works for in housing.

The Tiling is finished apart from the last of the grouting. Poor Steve is being fed with lots of tea but also Ibuprofen to ease his shoulder which is causing him a lot of pain.

I would be reporting your landlady to the very Housing Authority she works for, disgraceful that not only is she letting sub standard work go ahead to her tenant, but she is then letting him loose on other tenants of the Housing Authority. That needs stopping now.
Zen an absolute star today, she did everything I asked of her, offlead recall away from other dogs, 2 minute stay offlead, then a stay and recall. Can't fault her, only one thing was the inspection of the dog, because she didn't want anyone touching her rear end, she let me, but wouldn't let anyone else, whizzed round on them. They know and understand why, it all depends on the examiner really and if they will relax that one or not.

Surely Moyra, any work would have to be put out to tender?? That is done to avoid people getting work done for cheap/free

Moyra, it all sounds very dodgy to me. If I read it correctly your landlady is also an employee of some housing authority, there must be a conflict of interests going on there. Griff is correct the HA must put any work out to tender and I would be surprised if this kitchen fitter would get any contracts since he hardly seems able to turn up on time let alone prepare a written quote.

Well done to you and Zen and I can completely see why she is sensitive on her rear after what she's been through.
