Linking a laptop to a pc?

My brother has linked the laptop to the pc so that I'm able to use the laptop to do work on. Normally I'd go to "My network places" and click on "Main xp(c)" however for some reason this has disappeared.

Now he did show me how to get round this but I've forgotten what to do and now he's gone to bed!

So any ideas anyone?

I could just go into the dining room and use the pc, but I can't be a**ed!

Well it's turned on at the wall, but the pc isn't actually running??!! The pc will have been used and then put into hibernation.

God this is going to end up a major blonde moment isn't it?

I can just feel it!

yup

the pc needs to be turned on and running to access it

just change the power options so that the pc can be woken by lan as i presume ur using ethernet connections and it should wake it up if ti goes to sleep or disable hibernation

Will do!

Would help a lot cos my Dad keeps putting the pc into hibernate, despite the fact I've told him I need it on!
