Yep! I spent a long time getting it there on a Semi permenant basis - it is never chewed - just carried and only ever comes out on walks! (Or occassionally in training)

Seriously - when she was 10 weeks she showed such a strong herding instinct worried that she was going to get herself in trouble nipping someone - so I trained her to carry the ball - she still herds - but cannot nip as the ball is in her mouth.

You're so clever, Hannah - what a brilliant idea.

Siren looks just divine, as always

Thanks -

She is dog number 3 of mine that I have done this with - Trip was the first as she was terrible at eating everything she came across....Gabe needed a reason to come back to me....and then Siren as above - they are great at doing this and I very rarely loose toys....but I cannot claim credit for the idea I'm afriad....
Mum trained Champa to do this a while ago - as it stopped him having another dog in is mouth...and Ian Dunbar is also a fan of the idea.

I have also trained a few dogs who have come to stay with me to do somthing similar...please see Doberman thread from yesterday !

Her coat does look good at the moment - it will all fall out in a month or 2 (she has just come out of season - wel - her 3 weeks are up today)
