Daily Thread. Sunday, 23 April

Good morning, Happy St. George's Day.

Harvey, Casey is good when he meets other dogs. Shame about that cottage, there will be others.

I hope the police catch up with that gang that killed the swan and throw the book at them.

Eileen you are going to need that break away with Conor after your long stretch of child minding while their Mum and Dad are away in Liverpool. It doesn't matter how much you love them they are still wearing at that age.

June, hope Cariad and the other girls are all ok today and you get some nice weather to walk them.

Lynn, Hope Mark was successful in finding suitable accommodation to rent and Dillon is okay on his bad leg.

Sue, Barry, Mandy, Norma, Kassa et al hope you are all ok. I hope LG is also keeping well, do miss him on the thread but there are a lot we are missing now.

Have a good day all, stay warm and dry and above all safe and well, God bless.

Morning Moyra, Sue and all who follow.

Mark still looking for somewhere to rent. Dillon's leg doing ok but he is very stilted on that leg now due to the distal rotation. Also found a lump today on his nose. watching it for a few days as Gorden said he bumped into something Friday evening and knocked his nose.
Will watch it for a few days to see if it goes down if not it will be off to the vet. It doesn't seem to be irritating him.

Bernese friends world wide walk this weekend so we are off to Brancaster later to meet up with everyone. Will take photos and upload them later.

Hope everyone and all four legged friends are well today.

Morning all.

Weather clouded, but line of washing out when the cloud clears it is lovely.
Lovely to see the flowers out and the sun.

Sunday for Buster is sardines in sunflower oil mixer and a carot, he has also so far enjoyed a couple of walks now up to about 2&1/2 miles a day in short walks. His arthritis is getting better/easier he has cod liver oil, a teaspon of coocnut oil at night and still on 2 Yumove at the moment then will drop to one after the stated 6 weeks getting it into his system. Oh and lots of sleeping on the sofa or his bed.

Moyra the move sounds like a step in the right direction for both of you. Sure the ideal one will come.
Sue enjoy your bush trimming, I am useless at getting any shape even a ball.
Lynn Enjoy your get together and walk hope the day goes well. You sound just so muc happier in your posts now. End in sight.
Tawney Hope you feel a bit better allergy wise, have to say I do not suffer as such but up by the big asda by me it is almost encased in fields of rape........and even I can feel the effects. Bl**dy shame about the swans some times you can just ....ah well.
Lacey Have to tell you had the small powertool out yesterday electric screwdriver. Enjoy your time with the girls.
Griff Have a good day whatever you are planning.

Everyone have a great day.See you later and enjoy StGeorges day.

Posted in two parts because I keep loosing the posts.

hi all
Well had a lovely time with the twins yesterday...i am apparently very good with them Lol...probably coz we are on the same intellectual level Lol, i intended on spending a couple of hours but then they made me dinner...eventually got home around 7.30pm...mum was not happy as the cat had been a sod early hours and then dad just left her with the dogs...not good.
I hope you are all doing well, i feel somewhat odd today, i can't put my finger on it but it's either my chest/heart and i don't know which...the most odd feeling, i have done my medication and inhalers but it's still the same, i can't go to the dr with it as i don't know how the heck to describe how i feel..it's flippin weird though

Hello all
Sorry not been about again for a day or 2 but felt a bit low. We had my friends son's funeral on Friday, it was hard and very emotional but never seen a funeral like it. Must have been hundreds of people there.
I'm going to have dinner soon, we are having a small BBQ
Be back later to catch up

Oh Mandy his death was given so much publicity and people felt so bad for his poor family. I am glad a lot turned out for his funeral he was far too young to die bless him. Hope your son is ok. (((Hugs)))

Back from training with Zen and she didn't put a paw out of place, little star she was. No training next week as Bank Holiday, the weekend after, we take our Silver test again. I have had some of the kids walking her in front of me and Kesh, people stroking her, taken her to different places, so we will see if any of that has worked. At training they have different people walking up to her and stroking her and walking away, then others coming and walking off with her, can't think of anything thats not been done to try and diminish her fear of strangers. Everyone saying she is a lot better, so we will see won't we. Apart from that she would have passed it last time and she is even better now.
Mixed feelings on the news I have from the Swan front, it is looking as though it is another pair, who nest on the top canal, their nest site looks similar to the ones on the basin. It came to light as the pair where the male has been killed has cygnets, whereas mine don't, she is sitting on the nest though. Someone was saying they have been up to check on her and she is fine, feeding the chicks and having a wash and moving about a bit. Hoping they make it through, and another male comes to live with her eventually. So very very sad, although I am obviously happy and relieved it wasn't the pair I see,its still a horrid thing to happen
On the way back from training I noticed a few police at a house, had seen a police car outside the house on the way to training, but the car was still there nearly 2 hours later, and also a van, police all outside the house, wondering if they've finally found who it was, its not funny a gang of kids running round with an airgun shooting, and also a couple were threatened by them in a separate incident within an hour of the swan being shot, so must have been the same lot.
Moyra, am hoping you find somewhere nicer to live with a decent landlord who appreciates a decent tenant
Mandy, so very sad about the poor boy, its hard to come to terms with, his family must be still in shock, no wonder its taken its toll on you

Back from a a lovely walk at Brancaster Dillon a star as usual. Just trots along greets nicely and moves on keeping an eye on us all the time.
There were 30 Bernese altogether.
Lots of hormones running rife with the younger males and some humping going on. One went up to Dillon he just turned sideways and moved on and left the dog in total confusion.
Got back and saw Paul and Beth out so him and Poppy and bun were up and down the drive Poppy the eldest lab bullies a him a bit think it's territorial. He kept ducking in our gate and when Bun went in the garden they ignored each other bt when poppy followed bun in and they went up to him he got up and hid behind our car.
Never once does he get territorial although on the drive he did have a grumble at Poppy.

griff hope your feeling a little better.
Mandy so sorry for your friend.
Kazz sounds like buster is coming on a treat.
June well done to Zen. Wonder if they have the culprits.

Here's some photos of the walk.

Some of us gathered in the car park.
There is one of Gorden with Dillon laying down.
Some on the beach.

Oh aren't they all beautiful eh, glad you've had a nice day out. Going to be the last for a few days, looking at the weather forecast. There's some snow forecast this end, although I doubt we'll get it, probably heavy rain.
Dillon will sleep tonight after all the sea air and socialising won't he. He has settled into a really nice boy now hasn't he, I remember when you were pulling your hair out with him as well. Hoping this paw situation at least plateaus so you don't have anymore worry about it.
Zen's best friend at training, Mischa ( a week younger) is driving her mum potty at present, they passed for the Gold class at the last test and I think she is doing really well, its growing pains for her at present, just like Zen. I have the advantage of Mabs bouncing her round the yard every so often to mend her manners so Zen is a lot better behaved, but only because her mother is on the ball.
