School Christmas Fair

It is my grandaughter, Kiah's, first Christmas Fair. She only started school in September. Her teacher asked if any of the kids mums would like to bake a cake for the cake stall and the only hand to go up was Kiah's. Her mum doesn't really bake so it looked like granny (me) was well and truly volunteered.

I have just put the finishing touches to the lemon cake, which was going to be chocolate but couldn't find the cocoa! I have also made a dozen herb and cheese scones which look (and are) absolutely lovely and a Banana loaf! It bought back many memories of her mum being at primary school, I always baked for the Christmas or Summer Fair. Isn't it funny how we manage to go in full circle?

Well done you. I normally end up clearing out our book shelves and toy cupboard but this year due to building work we are not having one at school. My hall is full of stuff with no home at the moment.
