Oh Lynne, so much information for you to take in at the moment, so many questions, so many answers, so many, many worries for you about the what if's isn't there The only thing you can do is keep positive, keep phoning or wait for them to phone you, and just see how things go over the next few days. The worst case scenario just isn't going to happen with all this Dogsey magic you've got going for you here is it, so try not to upset yourself thinking about that, I'm sure they will find a way somehow to get the result they are looking for with dear little Ben, he only had the op yesterday, and what with all that sedation you just never know what's going on with that movement or rather the lack of it that they're looking for now, at least he's bright and more alert than they could possibly hope for so he's got something going for him hasn't he, plus he's been fixed up properly, so that everything should work as it's supposed to do. I don't understand about that lack of bladder control either, but I do know you can't have a catheter in permanently coz of the risk of infection so that's why they said that bit. Maybe it's just going to take a bit of time Lynne, and time is on his side now coz it's only been one day hasn't it, so keep positive and hope and pray like us lot are doing for you that they'll see the results they want in him over the next day or two. You poor, poor thing,my heart is going out to you at this extremely sad time, and I wish there was more I could do, I hope your prayers will be answered Lynne.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks for the update Shona, sorry I'd logged off by the time you posted

I am glad the vet has taken lots of time to explain everything Lynne and at least there was a positive there with him saying
that Ben was far more alert than he had hoped for at this stage?

We are all here rooting for the pair of you - I do hope there is good news for you soon.

Massive hugs to you & Ben. Thinking of you both xxxxxx

We all care Lynne, and we're all thinking of you and poor Ben but as Helena has said it's only been one day since the op. so please keep your chin up and I'm sure you'll have some good news soon. Also I agree wholeheartedly that not visiting now is the right thing, the thing that always amazes me about dogs is how they will completely disregrad their own suffering to be with their 'pack' and as you say he would want to return with you.
