It should be shouldn't it! One torch handed over in turn to each runner. No it's the flame, not the torch, that's passed on, from torch to torch.

I know most of its journey is done by car, as it arrives here by car, is run through town, put back in the car and off to the next town and so on.
It really should be run all the way, I am sure there woud have been more than enough volunteers to run it, but good old England chose for most of the journey to be done by car.

I'm sure I saw on the news Princess Anne carrying the flame to be flown to U.K. in what looked like a Davy lamp.

Is it possible they are being sold for charity? There are quite a few fund raisers carrying it. I like to think the best of people.

I also thought it was one torch, what a load of ignoramus's we are!

How will the flame be transported when it's not travelling by torch e.g. how can it travel on a plane?
Whilst in Torchbearer mode, the Olympic Flame will be carried in a Torch by Torchbearers. At the end of each of day, the Olympic Flame will be brought to the Evening Celebration events, where it will be held in a cauldron for the attending audience to see until the close of the event. When the Flame is not in a Torch or cauldron, it will be transferred to a lantern. Based on the principle of the lanterns that miners used, they are designed to protect the flame and help ensure a long burn time. These lanterns have been certified to enable the Flame to be carried on aeroplanes.

Some are, and some are not.

At the end of the day, if people are stupid enough to spend that amount of money on a 'torch'....then let them

One seller has posted up torch for sale despite being yet to complete their leg of the relay
Could be for charity or could be hoaxes of course, anyone could put one on Ebay-doesn't mean they actually have one or will have one for sale
