SD Cards

Can someone tell me. I going to buy a new digital camera, there seems to be all different brands of SD card, can I use any brand as long as it is an SD card

Yep-brand is irrelevant and Tescos were selling 1gb SD memory cards for £10 couple of weeks ago so check them out!

Be careful with Sony, as I believe they use memory sticks not cards and are quite different. Mine is anyway.

You probably need to see the manual because SD cards do come in different speeds. A slow card in a camera which needs a fast card can mean longer waits between taking photos.

Also as well as the standard sized card, you can get miniSD and microSD cards.

There are newer cards out as well - called SDHC cards.

Basically, you need an SD card which matches your camera's abilities. What camera is it ?
