Hi Jackie
what time do you last take him out and when does he first get to go the loo in the morning ? Does he wake in the night and ask to be let out ? Is he crated during the night?
He is still very young remember and they all mature differently. If hes on dried food by the way dont restrict his water!

Hi Jackie.
Its not wise to restrict a pups water...especialy if hes on dry food.As far as training him to be clean overnight the only method thats worked quickly for me is crate training.I've had all my pups dry overnight from about 10weeks old using this method.
Don't worry too much...he is still only a baby Nikki

Id change your vet !! Dried food makes a dog thirstier !!!

Although if you think the amount is VERY excessive it could be due to something else and might need checking out.
Boredom indeed

Me too Lel...thats a new one on me!!Drinking out of boredom!!
Jackie...you could still use a crate and put it in the same room as your other dog.Otherwise I think its just a case of making sure the pup gets an oppotunity to go out for a wee as late as possible and getting up early!...and patience

I have to agree with Lel on the water. I have never in all my years of having animals where they have drank excessively due to boredom

I'd look for another vet if I were you
