Travelling, how often should i stop?

When travelling in the car, how often do you stop and let your little doglets have a brake? Roughly how many miles till you stop?

by the time Star was a year old we could travel 2 - 3 hours without stopping. She is a great traveller.

We never travelled far enough before this time to have to stop for a break.

As youngsters I only travelled up to an hour with them - but as adults I think up to 3hrs or so is fine.

depends on the dog i guess. I would say maybe stop every hr depending on the dog to give them a stretch of their legs and a toilet break. My bf never stops tho and the dogs are always sick in his car.. his fault!

Thanks for the replies. Well the puppies were ten months yesterday and they are quite good travellers so I might try and hour and let them have a brake then maybe increase it if they are happy.

Up to a couple or 3 hours for an adult I'd say, but when they were younger, we would stop about every hour or so

Great thanks housedog
We have a lot of travelling to do cause we are doing the Munster circuit and we first have to travel down to Holyhead from Staffordshire and the sail to Dublin the we are gonna stop the night and do the Dublin show in the morning then we travel form the show about 240 miles to mallow in County cork. Then stop the night and rest the next day and then ever other day we have a dog show. And after the last show we will travel about 350 miles ( I know!) to countyRoscommon where we are gonna stay with friends for I don’t know how long. So im gonna be really tired!!! Should be fun though!
