Shops rubbish. Catalogues - any recommendations?

Does anyone use these, either on-line or glossy catalogues? It's just that I've searched the clothes shops and it's pretty dire so I was hoping a catalogue might be better ... something like Freemans, Great Universal, Empire Stores etc.

Just something that isn't the latest 'thing'; I need a new wardrobe really as the stuff I do have is horrid so I want some nice dresses for spring/summer and some nice classic stuff. I also need something nice to wear to my daughter's baptism in two weeks but the stuff in the shops isn't suitable.

Living up here we are not very well off for shops, I use next online and my daughter uses ASOS and debenhams, even try ebay, it may sound silly but she got a lovely prom dress from there.

Being large, I use Fashion World. Not much good for you Linda, being svelt......
The general catalogues like Freemans and Littlewoods are ok, but they do charge a bit more for their stuff.

Good hunting
