10 days tomorrow.

I feel entitled to be proud of myself as after 28 years of smoking,it will be my 10th day without so much as a drag on the dreaded cigarette. It has been quite tough, but i think that i have done really well and although im sure there will be tough times ahead,i feel strong enough to resist i think.

Well done you, you have every right to be proud of your achievement

I've never smoked but can imagine how difficult it is to give up, I keep biting my nails and try to give up and I know that is nowhere near as difficult as giving up smoking.

I hope you continue to do well and look forward to hearing your updates.

Well done. How did you manage it?

I've tried to give up so many times but just can't do it.

My weekness is that first one in the morning with a strong black coffee.

But at least I've cut down from 40 to 20 a day.

Also sitting in front of a computer working from home is really not helping as well.

But a big congratulations goes to you.
Colin

Thanks Colin.I attended a no smoking clinic at my GP surgery (a 1 to 1,I couldn't face a group of people) The nurse there was very good, instead of all this you must give up now sort of thing they usually come out with,She said only give up when you are ready and she gave me a perscription for the nicorette microtabs that disolve under your tongue. They help, but i still say the biggest thing is will power.Like you i am finding first thing in the morning a very trying time, you sit at your desk for long periods, and me in my wheelchair for long periods too,so i know where you are coming from there. Its hard mate, but you will know when you are ready.

oh well done I do admire you. I have to give up because of health complications. My asthma nurse suggested I went to the no smoking clinic as well so may give this a try. You should be really proud of yourself.

Hat's off to you mate.

Apart from behind the bike sheds at 12 / 13, I started at 17so that's erm.........18 years now. Been 20 a day for the last 15 of those at a guess.

I enjoy it (which is the problem) but would love to be a none smoker.

Well done you !

Well done Steve - another non-smoker to join us. I've been off the weed (and so has Baz) since 5/1/05 - I had the nicotine patches from the doctor on prescription, and they made it so easy. I highly recommend them
