Hi Dogbetty, I'm sorry to hear about your dog. My dog also has hip dysplasia. She's 10 years old and she's doing great. According to the
x-rays, her hips are very bad, but you wouldn't know it by looking at her.
She does 5 mile walks with me, she runs around a bit, she jumps up on
my bed.

I have her on the following:
-Synflex (arthritis medication for people and animals)
-Glucosamine/chondroiton tablets
-Previcox (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory)
-Vitamin C (which acts as a natural inflammatory)
-Vitamin E
-Selenium

Plus, I cook her dinner with lots of veggies including spinach and ground
beef or turkey.

I believe another reason she's doing so well is because I take her on
the long walks. The muscles in her legs are so built up and there is
no muscle atrophying. She also goes swimming whenever I come across
a lake or river.

Good luck to you and your dog. I hope my suggestions helped.
