I know you said you do not want girly names but when I looked at the picture you shared I thought of Beauty. I know Koda means 'friend' in one of the Native American languages. I like the name Topaz (because Topaz gems are different colors) but my husband didn't and we ended up naming our dog Copper because of his coloring. Sometimes a dog's personality will lend itself to a name. I wish you luck as naming animals can be difficult.

Amory - "meaning bravery and power"
Nyla - "meaning champion"
Piper
Pasha - meaning "an individual of high rank"
Sari - meaning "noble"
Tandy - meaning "strong"
Yoshi - meaning "Good, virtuous, or respectable"

That's all I have for now, but I'll look around some more when I have time. I hope these help, and good luck!

think a single syllabe name is best, especially for recall purposes.

Maybe Storm?

Well hopefully she's found a name by now as the thread was started in June.
I find 2 syllables work best, never yet had a dog with a single syllable name.

My current lot are all two syllables Diesel, Frankie, Teddy, Tucson and Phoenix and that's what they are known as. Funny every dog I've ever owned has had a two syllable name and the only one ever shortened was Sydney also known as Syd but generally called Sydney.

We can agree to disagree.
Lassie had two syllables.

I think it is practical.
I rarely use verbal commands.

"Max, let's go" is usually all I need. Or I just stroll on. He strolls on.

I'm the same!

I have a Gwylim and a Georgina who sometimes gets called Georgie!

In the past I've had a Sabrina, Sally, Sheba, Whiskey, Kemel, Poupee, and a Phyllo!
