Jack ~ Laid Back and Contented Boy – 3yo Brown Greyhound

JACK

Jack is a lovely 3 year old ex-racing greyhound boy. He has now retired from the racing world and is hoping to spend his days snoozing on someone’s sofa. Jack is quite a chunky boy and has a lovely brown/black coat with the faintest hints of a lighter colour running through it. He is a very pretty boy!

Jack is a relaxed, laid back boy who enjoys being around people but isn’t overly excitable. He tends to take things as they come. He walks well on the lead and likes to travel in the car.

Jack is a sociable boy an is good with the other greyhounds in our kennels. He has not been tested yet with smaller dogs but this can be carried out prior to adoption if required. Often ex-racing greyhounds need a bit of socialisation with smaller dog breeds as they would never have seen them before, and at the start may not realise they are dogs! He is not cat friendly.

Jack has not yet been in a home environment, so new owners will need to be a bit understanding at the start and give him time to learn the house rules. It generally takes greyhounds 10-14 days to start to settle in a home, and really all they need is time and patience. Jack is clean in his kennels so housetraining shouldn’t be too challenging for him.

Like most greyhounds, Jack does not need a huge amount of exercise. He will be content with two 30min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch his legs offlead in a safe area once or twice a week. This boy has spent all his life so far in the same home, so we think he will greatly enjoy getting out and seeing the world.

Jack is currently being kennelled in Ireland and will be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe when a suitable permanent or foster home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. Please note that adopters will need to travel to our nearest collection point to pick him up, and if you are in the UK and wish to meet before adopting him, he will be fostered in the Norfolk area.

Jack is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in adopting or short-term fostering Jack, please email me on for our adoption application form and information pack. Emails are usually replied to within 24 hrs. Thanks!
