Puppy Farm Blues

No one to hear my lonely cry,
No one to clean my filthy sty,
No one to care when I have a scream,
I'm just a fat, puppy machine.

No chance of sun upon my back,
Nor to hear the song of the lark,
No one to hear my desperate bark,
All there is , is the cold and the dark.

No fun and games nor yips and barks,
No cool pond to go splish splash,
No rustling grass or bunny tracks,
No scented woods to sprint and dash.

No toys to play with,
No bouncing ball,
No leads and wellies in the hall,
No one to teach me how to 'sit'.

Sometimes there's change,
So I've been told,
By the empty crates of the sick and old,.

No one to hear my lonely cry,
No one to care if I live or die.
