I need a schedule to introduce Bella to crate

Hi guys

Well Kamille have finally accepted the facts.. Bella need a crate.. Today, she had gotten in to the trashbag, hanging on the inside of a closet door.

She had taken one of Isabella's poo diapers and torn apart yuk :smt078 :smt078 :smt078 :smt078

She was alone for 1œ hour

So Kamille's going crate shopping tomorrow.

I promised I would ask if you guys could help her with a step by step introduction.

So guys please help. I will print all of your advice out for her. And keep a copy for myself...

Bella is very clingy to Kamille, and isnt really food orientated... Uhm she's 2 years old and a hyper GSD.

If there's more you want to know... Please ask.

If you promise to print the answers out an show her, my reply would be that a crate doesnt help Bella.
It helps Kamille (still) not taking responsability for her dog

Bella needs stimulation, training and attention and sheŽll be fine

(Sorry )

Hi Jeanette ..
Make sure the crate is good size and with no sharp edges..
First make the crate cosy with a nice bed.
You start gradually by feeding Bella in the crate with the door open,
give her treats in there too,
Next put her in the crate straight after a walk when she is more likely to be ready to lay down ..give her a treat and praise and close the door for about ten minutes staying in the room but ignoring her, then open the door quietly and leave her to go in and out as she chooses.
If all is well gradually increase the time she is in the crate with the door shut.
She should get used to it and make it her bed if it is there with the door open all the time.
That is how I would do it, other people may have more to add

EDITED to say sorry did not see Amt's post so have posted on crates as requested.

Not much anyone can do J, but I do feel bad for Bella.
To just put her away in a crate (I dont mind crates - use them myself) and not work out the probs youŽll just be adding to them

I know its not fair to tell you all this, course you know and cant really do anything. It just ticks me off. IŽm sorry
