Well I think u are right.

Today I took the kibble and put it in a milkcarton... She destroyed the carton, but left the kibble in her basket.....

I did today Inca

I gave her the food as I went into the shower. When I was all done 30 minutes later, she hadnt eaten, so I took it away, and she'll have it for dinner tonight.

Wold you feed extra tonight then?

I don't feed any extra if they've missed a meal. Which ever one has left thier food, they get the same amount for thier next meal.
