Yes Autarky is very good and contains herbs etc. I used to feed it to Oscar. Best about it is that it is all natural ingredients. It is also VAT free, as it is for working dogs.

Incredible isn't it? I never realised my "pet" dog food was a luxury and therefore vatable......
Sorry to go off topic........

Autarky is certainly a better food than Eukanuba, in my opinion ....and better value too.

Not sure where in N. Ireland you are but we used to buy it in Jollye's pet food store. From memory it was about £15 per bag.

Autarky stinks! far too herby for me, and why do dogs need Chillies? main ingredient is maize too, dogs dont digest grain well.

I have used it in the past. It gave all 7 of my dogs very loose messy bottoms.

I have always used Burns, however I did try the boys on Autarky - but both had very loose motions.

I have had my lot on this food before. They were fine on it (good coats, great condition & normal poops etc etc) and I liked the fact there was no rubbish colours etc added!

I had no problems at all with it. The only reason I changed is that my lot are all over 7 and I have gone onto a food with added Glucosamine. Having 2 Goldies with arthritis, if I can help the others at all and prevent this problem or even help reduce the chance and effects.

I have my munster on this food. Seems to be doing her ok - her coat is good, motions better than they were on JW and not having to empty her anal glands as often.
I get the food mail order from Dodson and Horrell - £19 for food and having it delivered to my door.
