Thanks for the birthday wishes.
I've had no cards or presents and am spending the day on my own, like yesterday, so the online messages are very welcome.
I expect I'll be dashing about sorting out this week's house problems!

Thanks folks - yes I am pleased with it now, the inside is my own design in terms of kitchen, dog room and bathrooms, very "me" probably not the least bit in fashion but I don't care too much about that!
Having bought the paint for the main living area I have changed my mind, saw inside one of my neighbour's houses on the way home the other night and the colour they had was superb. Strangely, the builder came up with the same suggestion a few days later. Oh well, back to Homebase..... The old colour can go in the upstairs bedrooms it's the "right" colour for a North facing room (Yes I am into all that )

It looks great, and you can finish the inside as you go along. As long as you are warm, can cook a meal and turn a light on, plus have a comfy bed and couch the rest will come in its own time.

Very true. I have a bedroom suite and table & chairs on order, once I have electricity and the plumbing is done I'll be in there!
I'll have to make do with the tatty, muddy dog settee for now though - move up doggies!

the house is looking great, did the old cottage have a name????? that you can pass onto the new cottage?? or are you chosing a new name?
All the cottages and older house on the IOW are named (or so it seems)

Your house Deccy has really come on in leaps and bounds-it looks fantastic!!!

The setting you chose is so right for the style and for someone to think yours is an old property is a real back slap! Get the kettle ready cause we're all comming for the house warming party...

Happy birthday!!!
