what is the dose that you use for piriton? I've got two retrievers who have both been bitten and are now chewing their fur off and scratching their bites....

Hi - my poor dog has a nasty rash on his tummy and privates. It seems to be every time he goes in the grass (never appears in the winter) so I am going to buy some antihistamines for him. Could anyone tell me how much I should give him? Thank you x

Am I imagining this or can you use piriton for travel sickness too?
Tilly can only manage about 40 mins in the car before she throws up

I know piriton is ok. Selkie once chewed up and ate a whole packet! She stole them from my bedside table while I slept. 30 tablets.. I rushed her to the vets and we phoned the poisons and toxins people... after a while they said an overdose of piriton should have no adverse effects other than extreme drowsiness.

Selkie was sleepy for 2 days and drank gallons of water, but otherwise fine... Not that I advocate it, or would say t was safe, but if she can survive 30 tablets, the odd one for an insect bite is unlikely to hurt
