Where do you start in the show world

I am hoping to take Zeita to some puppy class shows next year, she has excellent blood lines and I would really like to learn how to show. Mainly for a hobby we can do together. I have no idea how to teach her (GSD) to stand, what is expected in a puppy class and where to go for the shows.

Any advice welcome, also I would like to hear if any of you local to manchester know of any good groups to join for ring craft lessons

many thanks

I heard that Bramhall & Bollin Valley Ringcraft had closed?? Could be wrong though (wouldn't be the first time )

How about coming to Bolton & District GSD club training on Sundays between 2 and 4??

Bramhall has closed but they are starting up another, I think on a Friday evening soon. Don't know when, I'm awaiting to be advised.

Don't know where you are but I help to run one in Alderley Edge. We are a very friendly group and all dogs are welcome.

PM me and I'll give you the details.

Hi Mel

Usually they can come along as soon as the vet says they can go out. We finish this week for Christmas then we're back on the 3rd (I think) so why not come along then, even if it's just for a bit of socialisation? We do have a puppy class though - sooo cute!

Or you could come along but carry her this week just to see what happens. I won't be there this week, it's my sons birthday, but am usually there (I'm on the committee and steward at their breed shows).

We do the KC Good Citizen and Ken will do ringcraft with you too if you ask.

Hope to see you there
Paula

Do you know why it closed? I used to go there when I showed my Golden. It used to be quite busy and Lyn Yacoby-Wright whose Whippet got bis at crufts a few years ago went there too.

No, I'm going mad, it's the 6th - the first Sunday in January.

Here's a link to the website with the address:
http://www.boltongsd.com/Pages/Train%20Page.html

You just turn up at 2 oclock and usually speak to Ken or Carol and tell them what you want to do with your baby.

I'll be there so come and say hello. I'm the one with the naughtiest boy there
