Polo socialised with a boxer yesterday without getting into a fight.

It was the first time I allowed them to meet as Polo had a fight with the last boxer he met and he doesn't do bouncy dogs generally.

Anyway, he warned her not to bounce on him in a fairly reasonable way and she accepted he was not really up for playing that involved bodily contact. She half-heartedly chased him a few times and he stopped her without violence when she bounced a little too close.

A good interaction on the whole.

Yeah, she is learning not all dogs appreciate her enthusiasm.

Cool.

Buster made friends with the pub dog yesterday - though we did need to go into the pub to ask for our ball back.

Edit:

And a proper making friends with the pub "Looks a bit white geman shepherdish" dog. Successful game of chase. No panicking when cornered, more sniffing more playing. And a strange bloke (owner) threw him a stick. You just saw him back away to a safe distance (Man with stick) then go into "yay game happy" mode.

Yeah, I know, sticks. But strange bloke with stick & a happy dog is all good.

Little brag...neighbour bumped into OH in the driveway the other day and had a little natter. When he came in, OH said that the neighbour had a complaint about the dogs...they're too quiet now I'm sure he doesn't actually want them any louder but it's a relief to know they're not bothering him any more. A big part of it is management - I'm sure she would bark more if left in the evenings but I don't like to go out when I've left them all day anyway, and my mum is quite happy for me to take the dogs when we visit her at the weekend - but she is so much better in the day, especially since being on the Soloxine. Infact, the neighbour has apparently been working from home a fair bit lately (explains why his car has still been there a few mornings or he's been home before me some times) and said he's not really heard her. That bit might explain the odd bark during the day - discovered this week (as I was off work) that she barks at the sound of my nan's car door when my nan gets home (her house is opposite ours so Kiki must have good hearing!) but there was a moment on Wednesday when I had to pop into work that she barked and it wasn't my nan - neighbour was home when I got back so wonder if it's his car setting her off at times too. At least I know I have to work on desensitizing her to car doors outside, but it can't seem to disturb the neighbour that much if he didn't mention it.
I do have to thank the neighbours on the other side a bit though - their newer dog is a really noisy little thing and I think it's helped give a strong contrast between Kiki's occasional barks for a minute or two and this dog yapping all day and all evening!

Glad to hear Kiki's more settled. That must be a relief

My friend brought her boyfriend over to my house on Friday and Cain didn't eat him Score! It was the first stranger in the house since his bad experience with the behaviourist so I'm relieved as it didn't know how badly that affected him. Basically Sam through half a kg of sausages at him then ignored him so Cain settled down and slept nice to feel normal by being able to have guests over

I'm really pleased tonight.

I've just got back from agility training with Jake, and he was brilliant. We haven't been for about 10 weeks (due to separating from my husband and moving house - I'd really got enough going on for a while). I was worried he would either have forgotten everything, or go back to square one with his stressed panicked barking, but he was just great!

There were a few barks, usually when I'd messed up and put him off his flow, but he did everything perfectly, and generally kept his gob shut.

Oh, and he REALLY enjoyed himself, as did I

Well done everyone Sorry I seem to have missed so much..

Polo's interaction with the boxer sounds good, hope things have continued well?

That's good Kiki is feeling more settled, how is she now?

Good work Pippam for teaching Millie tricks, keep it up!

Yey to Cain for not eating people!

Glad agility went well with Jake

Today the unthinkable happened!!!
It was an empty day in the office so I took the opportunity to have Kestral dropped at work at 10 mins before home time just to see...

It went SO well. No one looked at her to start but she we pretty much flawless. Sometimes I feel I don't give her enough credit as I am blighted by what I know she can be like.

Here are a couple of pics (it is looking empty as I didn't take the pics until about 5.15)
