If I understand correctly, this is a gelatine capsule with timed release granules inside. I think I would open the capsule, and mix the granules with a little of whatever he likes best which has a strong flavour. Primula cheese spread has a good binding consistency, so has pate, also honey. If he is still suspicious, press the blob behind his top inscisor teeth - he should lick it away - and be ready with a treat in case he is bothered by an aftertaste.

Milo is now taking his tablets for his cushings disease every morning in Butchers beef/liver I heat the food for a few seconds in the microwave put the tablets in whole and leave for about 5 minutes and he eats the lot, never fed Butchers before but that is Milos diet from now on

How old is he? I would have the tests to find out the 'grade' of the murmur then you can decide to 'intervene' or just adapt his lifestyle to accomodate
