I wish it would just float away out to sea quite honestly! The more I pass it, the less there is of it and it looks really awful like it is. I don't want millions of pounds spent on restoring it either, coz Palace Pier is really nice so what do they want two for anyways!

You took some good pics there though franc, I especially like the black and white one

Its really sad to see it the way it is! In a way i want it just to go as it seems to serve as a constant reminder of whats wrong, but in other ways it is a landmark and it would be sad to see it go. It should have been restored long before the fire allowed to start.

There was a point way back when the west pier could have been beautiful again, but sadly this point is no longer.

Think its time we all need to wave goodbye to the west pier.

(also an interesting fact is that even tho in ruins the pier is still grade 1 listed so cannot be touched without certain permission!)

Ah, so that's why they just leave it in the mess it's in, rather than dismantle the remains. I find it rather insane though to still have a Grade 1 listing on something that really isn't there?????

Yup, especially seen as the bit that is listed now lies on the sea bed. How insane!!! xxx

Brilliant pics Frances Glad you had a nice time - Get well in with the security there - Geoff works there doesn't he You might be one of those students that he is chasing up and down the corridors for setting the fire alarm off
