Well I have been on them for a week now and haven't had any wind or diarrhea...but then my body is very, very strange...I don't seem to function like normal people

I am off to have my first week check up tomorrow and will be weighed so will know how much I have lost.

As Shelley said, I am on a low fat diet now so will be losing the weight anyway and probably don't need the pills...but the thought of being unable to control my bowels if I over-indulge has really kept me on the straight and narrow.

I'll update tomorrow once I've been to the docs

Sorry, forgot to update this yesterday

Great news...I've lost 6 1/2lb in the first week

I have to go back in another 2 weeks to see the diet nurse and the doctor. I have told the nurse that I hadn't been taking the tablets and she said that I should take them as they would speed up the weight loss in the long run, but hey, nearly half a stone to start with is all the incentive I need to stick at it

Thanks Becky...I don't have a goal as such, they are just going to see how it goes, you can stay on these tablets for 12 weeks at a time and they will only keep you on them if you continue to lose weight. I'm going to stay off them and see if I can do it myself. I would imagine I have 2 stone to lose in total as I'm a big frame and never been skinny. So long as I keep losing rather than put it on I shall be quite happy x

My OH's weight loss has slowed right down now and he's becoming rather depressed that it's not coming off quick enough, so he went to the Dr's at the start of this week and they want him to try Sibutramine Hydrochloride, have to say the list of Cautions, Contra-Indications, Side-effects etc are quite worrying, so I'm going back to the Dr's with him tomorrow to try and clarify some of my worries.

Well done you for losing the weight.
