Jasper, Red Fell Terrier, DOB 08.06
Jasper, Red Fell Terrier, DOB 08.06
His Story Was bought from the local paper at the age of 11 months by his owner 2 years ago. He had been living with another dog.
Salient Points Excellent in the home and settles when left. Excitable around visitors, calms when ignored. Good in car. Excitable around other dogs needs muzzling as 'puppy nips'. No recall outside. Not for cats.
Advert Jasper is now 3 years old and has been with his owner for just over 2 years. He is a great terrier who is very manageable inside the house, obedient to commands and a real love. Yes, he gets excited when people come, but soon settles. He hasn't lived with children. He needs a terrier proof garden and strict exit management as once out of the house he needs to be retained on an extender and have firm voice control . He can react to other dogs and is excitable so currently walked with on a muzzle. The reason why his owner is rehoming him.
Jasper needs a terrier person who can work with him so he gains some socialisation and learns to settle in the company of dogs outside. The muzzle should allow this, but it may take time before he settles. We see this so often with terriers and it is the art of living with a more feisty terrier, but then you gain in so many other areas! Jasper has been really well cared for and loved. He is in his 'prime' and will begin to settle more in the right hands with time. Perhaps more easily managed in a lower "dog density" area. Neutered, vax'd, regularly wormed and chipped. Wonderful terrier.
