Lucky on a sad Day

I left my workshop a bit earlier as usual (15 min) driving out of the village
All these police, fire engines, ambulances comming in the opposite direction
I said to the person who was with me in the car, something has happened something very big
Got home and wanted to watch the news on the TV it was terrible the channel wall had broken and swept nearly the whole part of the village away, that was for me a great shock
If I had stayed another ten minutes I would have been under this lot, the bad thing was
my Dog was in the garage and on the photo opposite my garage in the house was a young Girl of 7 years old who was standing on the balcony was swept away.
I am only telling this tale that you can see what life is worth and how
lucky you can be

That is me standing there thinking

I have never seen these pics Fred, what terrible devastation and shock for you, as it must be to look at them again and bring back those awful memories to you.

You are right, we never know what is round the corner or how very lucky we are, and hopefully will be never to experience anything on this scale in our lifetimes. Very sad Fred.

WOW Fred, what a remarkable story! You're absolutely right how fragile life can be.

Sad to read that a few lost their lives, and glad you are around to tell the tale.
