Just sticking this thread so that it stays visible for a while - as it will help me to see how many people would be interested in helping out.

If this interests you - please say

wonder how he persuaded them, as dog pages for example was going years before dogblog and none of them ever posted on there.
interesting, wonder how he did that?
He does have a magazine (albeit a small one) so maybe the promise of advertising?

Have you looked at the Oldies Club website? I volunteer for that rescue and some of the others that post on there. Whilst the new layout has a few dead links and so on, I'm guessing that is along the lines of what is being hoped for?

There are also a few others that run similar sites and to be valuable it would need to be kept current and look swish. I'm sure you know that already Azz?! However, we all need to be aware that to do it, it must be done right and to help is a firm commitment, we cannot expect Azz to do it all! Lurcher Link have one for Lurchers needing homes that seems quite good too.

I wonder if the value would be in having a site for poundies near their time limit - somewhere where the registered rescues could look? Is that worth throwing into the mix?

This is just a typing as I think type of message, so I hope it is useful!

Obviously, I'll help if I can. But I have no website experience.

So much has changed since I posted this thread - there were three dog related sites I had in mind, this one (a rescue site) a news site (but think Dogsey covers it very well now) and one where we raise a million pounds for dog charities.

I wanted to do one after learning a new programming language before starting on the social network... but I ended up doing Breedia

So while they are still possibilities (as there's another new language I want to try) I am hoping to dive straight into the social network. But who knows how things will pan out - as life seems to have a life of its own

Do you have a link to the Oldies site Bobble?
