Harness for Staffie Who pulls on lead...

We have got a harness for Poppy,a webbing one,but it is rubbing and leaving red sores under her armpits and a bit sore on her tummy, which is devoid of hair...

Can anyone recommend a softer harness, perhaps a cloth wrap round one ?

I have looked on some sites, but cannot find anyone on an English site who sells them...

Any ideas please...

Thank you...

Have you considered that teaching Poppy to walk on a loose lead might be cheaper & easier to do ?

It really isn't hard & the only cost is time & patience

Hi,

I use this for my puppy, he's big, strong and pulls when excited.

I only have one other harness to compare it to and that was made of nylon (£10) with no padding, and that rubbed my dog when wet or hot and frayed quickly too.

This one however is padded and the material is soft on the inside. It's also really strong and sturdy (esp. in the bigger sizes, i have a size 7-. The price is pretty good too for such a good quality product Hope this helps you out.

I have one of the fleece harnesses for my pup

I found it easier teaching him not to pull on a harness than a collar.

I have been using these harnesses for years not to prevent pulling but for comfort, they are very good. They are also really easy to put on, some harnesses require a degree in construction

Chloe also has the usual obligatory collar with a tag to which I used to attach a strap connected to the harness in case Chloe slipped the harness.

Now I use the large Halti lead which is long with various adjustments and clips at both ends to attach to collar and harness.

Hubby is out now buying a new harness, will report back when he arrives home with Poppy, she went with him to be fitted with it... plus it has a hook to fit in the seat belt of the car...I know this as I have just phoned him at the shop, eighteen miles away from where we live...
Can't get anything decent where we live in a small market town...
Thanks for all advice and links shown...

Thanks everyone, have managed to buy a harness, and it is a multi-functional safety device as it can be used as a car harness also...
It has a seat belt adapter and allows you to easily fasten the dog into the car whilst travelling...

It does not say that on the packaging, and the assistant didn't mention that it was zoeyvonne...

She, Poppy travelled the eighteen miles home wearing it,and tomorrow we shall see how she gets on with it when walking...
Hubby is doing the stopping and making her wait when she pulls, she just sits down obediently, then starts off again pulling...
But it will take time and patience but hopefully Poppy will learn...
But the reason we bought this harness is the other one she has,was making her sore...this one does not come up under her armpits,so should be much better for her...
Trial and error I think...
