If he is in a shed on his own, could one of your more trustworthy volunteers not go and collect him when the woman is at home?
If the woman is wanting to rehome the dog, then surely she will be happy to hand him over?
Im still not 100% sure I understand this, maybe we should hear the other side of the story first?

I agree with shadowboxer, Im no expert on rescue by any means, but the large organisations take the dogs in and assess them thoroughly before rehoming them, when you take a dog from one home to another, without assessment, you are bound to encounter problems like the ones you had with the white boxer (was her name sasha?) of course you also have the major problem that most owners arent honest and will say anything to get shot of a dog they no longer want so if you are taking it straight from the home into the new one, how do you know the dog doesnt have health or temperament problems?

This isnt meant to be a critisism, I just think if you are going to rescue dogs you need to spend some time with them prior to rehoming them to suss them out, you just cant do that properly if the dog is taken from one home and put into the next home.

I read the thread on another forum too

I dont think it right for anyone to take sides without all the facts really-
It would be unfair

it is unfair that the other person wont give her point to this but what is done is done and we all learn by our mistakes and it sometimes makes us better

thankyou julie

I have had a read of the thread in question, and I have to say there are a few discrepancies and things which dont seem to add up :smt017

this quote was made by "boxerlass" (I presume Jaquie on here?)

"Scottish Boxer is a qualified dog behaviourist, she has been in the rescue senario for 7 years and indeed works for the SPCA"

If this is indeed the case, then why did SSPCA staff at bothwell refuse to hand over the bitch which was in their kennels, and when I rang to enquire, they told me they do not work with Boxer welfare?

can someone enlighten me please?
