Lipomas - Anyone have experience of it?

My dog is going to be 10 and I am finding a lot of fatty tumors (lipomas) on
the inside and what appear to be cysts on the outside of her skin. Has
anyone had this with their dog?? I've done much research, and I've taken
her to the vet. He told me not to worry about it, but I'm still concerned.

This poor thing has so many health issues. She's got Lyme Disease and
Hip Dyplasia. She's having FHO surgery in May. She's is such a
wonderful dog, she doesn't deserve to have all these problems.

Thanks WG!! You just made my day by telling me your friend's dog lived to 18!!!
You know from my other posts today that I cannot live without my dog.

She has them on the inside. They are about the size of golf balls and they feel
"squishy". My vet told me there is no point in having them removed unless they
get in her way of walking.

It's funny that you say "bitch". I know that's the proper term for a female dog,
but we don't use that here.

We just use the term "Female" here in the States. I'm sure breeders use "bitch"
though. I only say "bitch" when I'm referring to a woman I don't like. ; )

Your friend must have taken great care of her dog. I cook my dog dinner every
night and I give her all sorts of vitamins and meds for her hips. She still runs
around and acts like a puppy. I'm hoping that's indicative of a long life.

Amy (15) has lots of Lipomas they are benign and nothing to worry about. My previous girl had them too, some breeds seem predisposed to them

My last dog, ESS, was covered in them and lived til she was 15! Woody has a few now and he's nearly 11, nothing to worry about really.

One of my girls has just had one the size of a small orange removed from her flank. She is a LabX and is nearly a teenager!
It doesn't seem to have bothered her in the slightest but the vet was concerned that it might eventually cause difficuty walking. She's always been a bit prone to lumps of one sort or another, but so far so good....
