I'm Back

Hello everyone,
Internet is finally up and running so I am back.
The move went well and I am loving it here. Its so relaxed and everyone is so friendly. I have spoken to more people here in the last two days than I did in 2 months at my old place.
Its wonderful waking up every morning to the stunning views, I can see landmarks at least 15miles away and its so peaceful, just the birds singing or the sound of a dreaded wasp buzzing round you waiting to pounce.
Lily and I have been on some lovely walks early mornings and have more to explore, there is another greyhound living over the road so we have gone with them a couple of times.
Only downside I have found in having a south facing garden is that its too darn hot to go out in it during the day, but early mornings and late evenings we have enjoyed it.

I am set up work wise and have a trial morning serving customers at the local family run deli and cafe tomorrow morning which is about 1.5 miles away. I also have a cleaning job and some care work.

Lily is slowly settling in and realising this is our new home. She loves the big gardens but again its too hot for her at the moment during the day out there as there is no shade.

I still have loads of unpacking to do but I feel so laid back here its not worrying me as everything seems a slower pace of life. It will be done as and when bit by bit.

I havn't ever felt this happy and content, its all just amazing and I feel so lucky to have this place.

Hope everyone is ok and all the doggies. I will try and catch up over the next couple of days.

Oh Bev, I'm over the moon for you, you sound just like me when I moved here Isn't it fab when you find that little piece of heaven, especially after all you've been through in that other house. It makes me wonder why on earth the people would have wanted to swap with you I hope they're happy too.....maybe......but certainly not as happy as you are that's for sure

Enjoy it! I'm the same here with these neighbours, they're all so chatty and friendly, and that's almost half the road, not just those around me, I know them all now. We were so shut away in our old house with the big driveway gates, so this open plan thing at the front has made a big difference to my socialising, especially when I'm chilling out on the balcony with a cuppa and Zena, it's all so perfick just like it sounds for you there.

Fantastic that you've set yourself up with a nice little job and a bit of cleaning, I'm sure it'll be a lot less taxing on you and hopefully a lot more lucrative too.

Just imagine if you had turned this offer down 6 months ago hey?!!!! You'd be kicking yourself wouldn't you. Enjoy everything Bev.xxxxx

Well that's so good to read. Off and on I've followed your thoughts about the old place, I remember when you were looking at moving to place where the job was part of the deal, in the end I think you did well to avoid that one It sounds great where you are now and hope it stay that way forever. I'm sure Lilly will like it too once she's sniffed everything and got used to the new smells.

Welcome to your new home
You sound over the moon with your new home. I am so delighted for you and Lily. You can make some shade with an umbrella or something and just think how lovely it will be in your garden in the Autumn and Spring sun Isn't it amazing how your life has changed for the better by your house move

Bev I am so very happy for you. Absolutely fantastic that you already feel so much at home and have relaxed so much.
Even better there are several jobs around for you as well.
So glad you did make the move

This is the greatest news Madmare! So pleased for you.

You will be glad of that south facing garden in the long UK winter when the sun is lower in the sky and the sunlight helps warm your house and keep it looking bright and cheery - I never wanted anything other than S. facing gardens and even insist on S. facing verandahs!

Let's face it this long hot UK summer is a bit of a departure from the norm! I am sure you can find Lily a bit of shelter or make something for her out there once you have time.

Couldn't have worked out better could it - with the job stuff all falling into place too. Well done on that front. And the natives are friendly! You have done really well and I'm sure you deserve it too.

You've got the rest of your life to unpack the darned boxes girl!

You sound full of contentment if that's possible....but so very pleased you are happy and feel at home. And a greyhound neighbour too..........icing on the delicious cake I think.

Welcome HOME.
