Dog proof?? Certainly not JRT proof!!

My old dogs, Roly and Cindy, JRTs,. We were staying at some holiday cottage in dartmoor and there was this fence, rite. and my dad asked the owner whether it were dog proof he goes 'oh yeah! It's dog proof. Got there and Roly and Cindy found 3 ways and got out! Roly jumped THROUGH, yes through the fence, Cindy got under and they both went through the hedge. so not JRT proof but probably dog proof!

I can vouch for the JRT getting through fences. We spent the whole afternoon putting wire netting on our fences to stop Millie getting into the Vegetable garden, (you know, burying bones, digging up the cabbage, beans, peas, etc.) When we finished, we were proud of what we had done!!! Went in having a cuppa, looked out of the window and guesse what. Our poppet was in the veg garden trying to find out how she got in, so she could get back out. It took us three days to find how she did it. She made sure we weren't watching each time she went in. I do think there should be a JRT proof type of fence!!

Here Anne,
my aunt was a JRT breeder, stopped a few years back, and on her puppy packs, she used to stamp it. SHe had a stamp made, a round one that she dipped in red ink, which was marked,

That reminds me of when we got our Welshie in 2000;she was 18 months old.
I fenced the yard with 4 ft high chainlink with attention to the bottom knowing
their reputation as diggers. After a few days she was escaping at will, but with
no witnesses.

Got my neighbour to stand outside on the street with her dog as bait while we
peeked through a window..... well when she saw her playmate on the street
she climbed the fence like a monkey on a stick, flinging herself over the top!

It took a bit of headscratching, but tying plastic corrugated plastic panels to
the top foot of the fence worked. "Houdini" wasn't amused!!
