Scratching?!?!

My 8 month chinese crested has been scratching himself raw today!
Due to him not having hair it would be easy to see any lice or fleas but close inspection shows nothing!

he had a bath yesterday but used same shampoo as always and washed it throughly out.....

any ideas?

He is white with lots of freckles that over the months have started to merge so I actually think his skin will darken as he gets old.
not been putting cream on but tend to walk thiem around 7pm and keep them in shade most of day,........

Just looked at your pictures, I would say put sun cream on if you arent already.

I noticed in the pictures he has stuble, could this be annoying him causing him to scratch, it can with pedigree cc's hence the stuble and face hair is shaved off, it may be something you want to consider doing. even more so in the heat.
If not i would pop him down to the vets for a check up, see what they suggest, cresteds are prone to alot of skin irritation due to a number of things, i have also noticed that cc crosses are just as affected by skin problems.

eta - Cresteds/hairless dogs skin darkens through out the summer months, just like humans get a tan, the skin will also get lighter again through winter months.

Thanks for that, he is a full CC and until today has never been scratchy, I do clip him about every 10 days now and he had it done yesterday so maybe that has irritated something?
Werm in the other hand is a x and she is scratchy by nature!
I will see how he seems tomorrow and thank you so much for the replies.

ahhh sorry i thought you was on about Werm my mistake. I was confused when you said he was white, because i had look at the pictures or Werm Sorry again, i should read clearer.

Yes shaving can irriatate the skin even more so the lighter coloured skin, as it seems softer, the whites and the pinks.
what we do is shave with the clippers, bath and then cover them in aloe vera cream and it works a treat If you have shaved him i would defo think that is where the irritation has come from!

Now for the pictures
