Iam new on here just like to know why my bitch won't let my boy mate with her this is our first time in trying

She may not be ready yet, they are only receptive for a few days during their season, do you know if she is ovulating yet

Hi she is on day 16 our stud boy not proven but he keep trying but she get snappy etc she do stand a little but sit a lot to

One of mine doesn't ovulate till day 20, its not a hard and fast rule that they will be ready on day 10. You need to get blood tests to find out when she is going to ovulate first of all. I take mine to the vets for bloods every other day when I am not sure.

I do here some ovulate a lot later is the bloods a quick thing do you have to wait for days for the results

You take your girl in the morning and they let you have the results in the afternoon, does your vet have their own lab, mine does, and sometimes the result comes through to me when I am on the way home so it is very quick usually. Is there anyone to mentor you like the breeder of your girl or boy, because there is quite a lot to it really. I took our girl to our breeder she been doing it years she a older lady sky our girl went see her stud last Friday but no joy she is very helpful so that's nice she said at the time don't think my girl is ready but 5 days on me girl still don't let him not sure on our vets if have there own lab a friend of mine mated her dog on day 10 and she is expecting but I get told from lots all dogs are different

They are all different, and your best bet is finding out through bloods when she is ready, then that gives you the best time for her to see a boyfriend, the vets will then tell you when to take her as well. Let your breeder help you, if she is very experienced she will know what to do
