Vet said my rottie is obese what do u think pls

Lisa hi - the best way to tell if your dog is overweight is to run your middle finger lightly down your dog's spine - I if you cannot feel his spine under your finger then he is overweight. Likewise if you run your middle finger lightly over his rib cage you should be able to feel an outline of bone. Neither spine nor rib cage should be protruding, just felt under a fingertip

Also the view from above can give a clue, if a dog has pronounced spare tire on both sides of their lower half you can usually see it. I would believe your vet though, perhaps some more exercise for your pup?

your dog should have a 'waist' ie go in at the middle
