Malamutes - skin problems

Has anyone's malamute on here developed any skin problems?

Flow has a couple of sores on her leg..that she's been biting furiously..

We have a eczema based shampoo that our vet prescribed to us,been bathing her legs in that..

Is there anything i could use...or do I take her back to my vet?

With Suki being a shar pei she had some skin probs like that I used sudocrem on them and it seemed to work, what about the thornit powder that some one on here suggested before ? I hope you find a solution it is a worry when they get things like that and you end up at your wits end trying to figure it out...some one from america told me to use lanacane powder once too but I did'nt need to thats one to research, could it be her diet ? Poor Flow hope she gets some peace from it soon

Dax had a couple on a leg looked as though they may have been an insect bite at first. The vet bound them up for a couple of days to stop the lick routine & touch wood no more problems.

Sounds like a hot spot - wet exzema - lots of Mals very prone due to thick coat - often caused by being wet and not drying properly.
Some people swear by fuciderm from vets, others use aloe vera, others use athletes foot powder or thornit ....

Yes, I agree, sounds like a hotspot. I have heard they can erupt at lightning speed.
