I am getting married

Just thought that I would let you all know that in just over a week from now, I will be getting married!

Dave and I will have been together for exactly 10 years on 12th November, 7 years of which we have been engaged. We have never actually got round to getting married and for ages we have said that if we have not done it by the time out 10 year anniversary comes round, we should go off and do it.

Early October we realised that we had just 6 weeks left. It may sound a little bit OCD but I told Dave it had to be on our 10 year anniversary and if we missed the boat then we might have to wait for another 5 or 10 years!!

We briefly considered getting married locally and saw a couple of places. Being a Friday, by the time we had booked things, a lot of people would have struggled to get the day off work in time. We have never liked being the centre of attention and it all got a little bit scary. Instead we are going off to Scotland (Gretna), just the two of us, and getting married there. We are having a party a couple of weeks later on 27th, which we will treat as our reception for a small number of family and friends.

It's quite funny because after we sent the invites, people that I have spoken to quite recently knew nothing about it. Every shop that we have been into for rings, suits, dress etc have all asked when we are getting married. When we said 12th November they all stared and said, which year?

Lol, I don't even have pictures of me on my FB page, let alone posting them on here! It was one of the venue ladys saying 'Your photographer will spend about an hour and a half taking pictures, how does that sound?' that finalised our decision. I never did tell her how that sounded, I don't think it would have been appropriate!!
